Meet Joe.

Joe Ackerman is a candidate for the Centennial School District (ISD 12) School Board. He has proudly called Lexington home for the past ten years and is the father of three children who will all be enrolled at Centennial Elementary this fall.

Joe has been actively involved in the school community, volunteering in his children's classrooms for over two years and participating in the CEPO volunteer program. Through these experiences, he has developed a deep appreciation for the dedicated staff and the strong foundation of Centennial's schools. Inspired by what he has seen, Joe is committed to becoming more involved and contributing to the district's continued success.

He believes strongly in the importance of community involvement at every level of education. Joe sees an engaged and informed community as essential to building strong schools, supporting students and staff, and ensuring responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources.

Joe's professional background brings valuable, real-world experience to the table. He spent 15 years in the restaurant industry before transitioning into a career in HVAC service. He currently serves as a Chief Engineer at a large production facility, where he manages a team responsible for electrical distribution, chilled water systems, and building HVAC operations. His role includes overseeing budgets, solving complex operational challenges, and coordinating with skilled trades—experience that translates directly to thoughtful leadership and accountability.

Raised working alongside his father in carpentry, Joe values hard work, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. Outside of work, he enjoys skateboarding and ice fishing.

As his children enter the public school system, Joe is more committed than ever to supporting strong schools through active parent and community engagement. He believes that when communities come together, they create better opportunities for every student, teacher, and staff member.
